Ranking of the CFL's best prospects: four Quebecers, including two Rouge et Or players in the top 20

Four Quebecers, including two players from Laval University Rouge et Or, find themselves in the top 20 of the CFL recruiting office's winter rankings released today.

Blocker Nathaniel Dumoulin-Duguay and slotback Kevin Mital were left out of the first rankings released in September and are ranked 18th and 20th.

There are only four U SPORTS players. The other two are blocker Theo Benedet, who is represented by agent Sasha Ghavami, and Giovanni Manu of the UBC Thunderbirds, who occupy the 2nd and 9th levels respectively.

From Quebec we note two more players who have broken the rankings. These are Lévis linebacker Geoffrey Cantin-Arku of the Memphis Tigers, who is identified as the seventh-best candidate, moving up three places, and offensive lineman Christy Nkanu of the Washington State Cougars, who is ranked 16th, up three places falls back. The 6-foot, 319-pound Montreal native lives in Los Angels. He began his NCAA career at Southern Utah.

Guests at the Senior Bowl, the NCAA's most prestigious all-star game, include offensive lineman Isaiah Adams of the Illinois Fighting Illini in the front row and tight end Theo Johnson of the Nittany Penn State Lions, who is ranked 3rd not the case was placed in the previous ranking. Adams, who finished 5th in the fall, wore the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks colors in 2019.

There are nine offensive linemen in the top 20.

This fall's top prospect, quarterback Kurtis Rourke, has decided to postpone his draft year to 2025. The brother of Nathan, who finished the season with the New England Patriots, he played three seasons with the Bobcats of Ohio and will wear the colors of the Indiana Hoosiers in 2024.
