TJ Holmes admits he feared being seen as a black

TJ Holmes admits he feared being seen as a “black man beating up a white woman” in THIS very emotional podcast episode with his lover Amy Robach.

Just a day after confirming they are still together following an emotional podcast episode, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach are opening up.

Holmes, 46, and Robach, 50, aired an episode of their Amy and TJ podcast on Tuesday that featured an on-air argument that left some wondering if they had broken up, even though that was not the case.

The couple got into a heated discussion about their communication issues and admitted that they weren't feeling well and that filming the episode had actually been a “surprise” for their team.

On Thursday, they released another new episode of their podcast, outlining why Holmes was hesitant to even release the episode.

Holmes admitted that he didn't want to be perceived as “a black man beating up a white woman” in the episode.

Holmes asked Robach to explain why he was hesitant to release the episode when it began: “When someone cries, it creates a certain dynamic where people feel like they need to come to my aid rather than actually coming to my aid from someone else perspective to look at. 'More balanced perspective.'

“I think tears can seem manipulative – that wasn't my intention, but it could come across that way.” “And I think the concern was that people wouldn't be able to listen objectively,” she added.

Holmes acknowledged that Robach was “very careful” in her statement, admitting, “I don't want to put this out there because I'm afraid it will be seen as a black man beating up a white woman.”

“If anyone took the time now and listened to this podcast, obviously I didn’t scream, I didn’t scream, I didn’t do anything,” he continued.

Robach added, “That would never have crossed my mind. “Race, the fact that you're black and I'm white, would never have crossed my mind, and that's kind of right for you in a way.”

“You have to think about things that I don't think about, and honestly it took me a second to really understand it,” she admitted.

He added: “I know I can only put so much bass in my voice, I know I can only row my hands so much. “There's only so much movement I can put in my body can,” referring to his previous interactions with white colleagues.

The impromptu episode, titled “This Ain’t Right,” wasn’t planned. Holmes surprised Robach in her living room to talk about her problems.

The couple shared a video of a stroll through New York City on Instagram on Wednesday.

“Despite what you've heard, we're still together.” “We're hearing from many of you on our latest episode of the podcast,” Holmes said.

“It was something we really struggled with and debated whether we should even release it – but at this point I'm glad we did,” he added.

Amy and TJ's podcast airs on the iHeartRadio podcast network.
