A woman was brutally stabbed by her partner in the Pointe-aux-Trembles neighborhood of east Montreal on Friday morning, according to reports.
The victim's lifeless body was found shortly before 8 a.m. in a house on Rue Sherbrooke Est, near the intersection of Avenue Yves-Thériault.
According to our information, the woman, whose age was not disclosed by authorities, was stabbed multiple times by her partner.

The latter called 911 to request the presence of emergency services.
The suspect was arrested at the scene.
Efforts to resuscitate the victim were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

This would be the second femicide in the province since the beginning of the year. In early January, 29-year-old Chloé Lauzon-Rivard was murdered in a home in Granby. Her partner, Michael Dugas-Farcy, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
