A car fire led to several large explosions near a Sikh temple in Sacramento on Monday afternoon, officials said.
The incident was reported by the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society around 3:40 p.m. local time, according to a sheriff's office spokesperson.
According to KCRA 3, a member of the temple said a car on the property caught fire before it spread to a propane tank near the building.
Fire officials later confirmed that propane tanks were likely responsible for the explosions.
Footage of the temple taken from above showed the roof was almost completely charred as firefighters arrived to bring the fire under control.

Several vehicles in the parking lot were also apparently destroyed by the explosions.
Fortunately, everyone who was in the temple appeared to have left the building when the damage occurred.
No injuries were reported, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and the Fire Department.
“Confirmed: no injuries and everyone evacuated,” the office wrote on its X account.
“There are still emergency services on scene, please avoid the area.”
The temple is part of the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society complex, which also includes an elementary school.
The neighborhood is located in Vineyard Township, Sacramento County, approximately six miles east of Highway 99.
Traffic is closed along Gerber Road and Bradshaw Road, where the temple is located.
