The Benidorm Fest 2024 officially begins on the night of this Tuesday, January 30th. The music competition also acts as the Spanish pre-selection phase of the Eurovision Song Contest. The candidate from the 16 finalists selected by RTVE who wins in the city of Alicante will travel to Malmö (Sweden) in May. The three galas will be moderated by Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Calderó and Ana Prada. The first semi-final will be broadcast this Tuesday, January 30th at 10:50 p.m. on La 1 on TVE and on RTVE Play (one hour less in the Canary Islands). The Eight artists qualified for the evening will perform in this order and only four of them will advance to the final:

  • 1. Poetry, with astronaut.

  • 2. Noan, I miss you –

  • 3. Sofia Coll, with Here to Stay.

  • 4. Mantra, with Me you will see.

  • 5. Miss Caffeina, with Blah blah blah.

  • 6. Quique Niza, with prisoner.

  • 7. Angy Fernández, I know who I am.

The second semi-final, also broadcast by 1 and RTVE Play, will take place this Thursday, February 1, from 10:50 p.m., with the following order of performances. Here too, only four of them reach the final:

  • 1. María Peláe, with transmitter

  • 2. Dellacruz, kiss in the morning.

  • 3. Marlena, with Summer Love.

  • 4. St. Peter with two strangers (string quartet).

  • 5. Jorge Gonzalez, Caliente.

  • 6. Yoly Saa, I won't forget it.

  • 7. Roger Padrós, El temps.

  • 8. Almácor, with platinum glitter.

The final on Saturday, February 3rd with the eight finalists will be broadcast on La 1 from 10:00 p.m. After each of the three galas, the first TVE channel will expand its coverage with The Night of Benidorm Fest. This monographic program returns with the same presenter as last year, Aitor Albizua (Figures and Letters), joined by Inés Hernand. This live program analyzes what happened in each qualifying round from various points, stage sets, backstage and dressing rooms and captures the first impressions of the artists according to their classification. Each gala also offers interviews with the moderators, jury members and guest artists. They will be the ones who will conduct the first interview with the representative of Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 on Saturday morning.

Inés Hernand and Jordi Cruz return with the new season of Benidorm Calling. They will broadcast special programs via RTVE Play and from Benidorm before the three galas (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) from 8:30 p.m. They will discuss all the news of the competition, interview all the festival participants and give space to the fashionable TikToker Rayo McQueer, who will have his own section.

On Friday February 2nd, Carlos Peguer and Mariang Maturana, better known as la Pija y la Quinqui, will travel to Benidorm from 8:00 p.m. for a special La Playz List de la Pija y la Quinqui with a live performance the title Key to perform by Benidormch. For an hour, both presenters, together with their colleagues and reporters Verdunch and Rayo Mcqueer, will analyze the festival from their respective perspectives. Among others, Miki Núñez and Ladilla Rusa will perform live in Benidorm. It can be watched live on RTVE Play or watched later on demand.
