Beaten in Italy by the new film I Soliti Idioti, Poor Creature ends with the full maturation of its protagonist Bella Baxterthe pregnant woman who committed suicide brought back to life by Dr. Godwin Baxter, who implanted the brain of the child she was carrying into her body: Our adventures around the world therefore end where it all began, in London.
At the end of the film, Bella actually meets the man Victoria Blessington was married to, thus Bella's (physical) identity before the suicide; Our curiosity therefore decides to return home with him, not discovering anything else in Mr. Blessington a possessive, cruel man and, in short, the maximum expression of patriarchy in all its aspects.
Bella then manages to escape, seriously injures Blessington and takes him to the dying Godwin's house, where he is implanted with a goat's brain: at this point Godwin dies of cancerHe left his home and laboratory in the hands of Bella herself, now determined to become a doctor, and Max McCandles, now ready to begin their married life.
