The 78yearold actress Jandira Martini died this Monday (29) in São Paulo after a long battle with lung cancer.

The statement was created on social media by actor Marcos Caruso, a decadeslong friend of the actress. Information about the wake and burial has not yet been released.

“Jandira Martini, my greatest friend and proof that opposites attract and complement each other. Together we write plays, scripts, series and soap operas. My great confidante, advisor and responsible for my biggest laughs. My teacher. You know when you pass.” “When you pass by the school you studied at and see that the building has been demolished? That’s how I feel about your departure,” lamented Caruso.

Jandira was born in Santos, on the São Paulo coast, and graduated from the School of Dramatic Art at the University of São Paulo (EADUSP) in acting. She starred in several soap operas TV Globo and one of the most famous interpretations is Zoraide from the soap opera “O Clone”.

Jandira lived in the city of São Paulo with her family and frequently performed in the São Paulo theater. Her theater career began in the late 1960s with Joan of Arc under the Flames.

On stage, the actress's career spanned more than 20 plays, including Seu Excelência o Candidato, Porca Miséria, Operação Abafa, O Eclipse and the monologue Prof! Profa!.

At TV headlineJandira was a writer and actress in the soap opera Ana Raio e Zé Trovão. At the SBTplayed in Éramos Seis and Sangue do Meu Sangue.

At TV Globowas part of the cast of the soap operas Sassaricando, Caminho das Indias, Salve Jorge, Morde e Assopra and the miniseries Os Maias and A Casa das Sete Mulheres.

In 2017, Jandira made a special appearance in the series “Manual para Se Defender de Aliens, Ninjas e Zumbis” on the Warner subscription channel.

In the cinema, the actress played in Uma Comédia Atrapalhada and Olga. In 2018 he filmed Uma Pitada de Sorte with Fabiana Karla and Chorar de Rir with Leandro Hassum. In 2019, he filmed 10 Hours for Christmas, directed by Cris D'Amato.

Celebrities paid tribute to actress Jandira Martini on social media after actor Marcos Caruso reported her death.

“Wow, how sad. I'm sorry about your partner. A very loving hug for you,” wrote actress Regiane Alves.

“All our feelings, dear friend,” wrote Otaviano Costa.

“My condolences, Caruso. A tender kiss for you,” commented actress Carolina Dieckmann.

“Great actress! I had the privilege of being in a film with her… It's so nice to be with great actresses… Very sad. A big hug, dear,” wrote Flávia Reis.
