A glamorous night in Stockholm! The Swedish royal family welcomes Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron to a glittering gala dinner at the palace

Stockholm was full of glitz and glamor this evening as the Swedish royal family hosted a gala dinner for some very special guests.

The royals are currently welcoming French President Emmanuel Macron, 46, and his wife Brigitte, 70, on a state visit to their country.

And to make their guests feel extra welcome, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia and the rest of the family dressed in all their finery to attend a banquet with the President and First Lady at Stockholm Palace.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel as well as Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia were also present at the dinner.

The palace halls sparkled with jewels as the royal family and special guests arrived for dinner.

Crown Princess Victoria, 46, wore a one-shoulder baroque-style ball gown with gold embellishments as she walked the red carpet arm in arm with her husband.

She accessorized with a stunning gold and diamond tiara, diamond earrings and a metal clutch.

The Beatles! The President and First Lady of France beamed as they stood in the palace, flanked by the Swedish royal couple

Meanwhile, style queen Brigitte stayed true to her chic roots with a structured floor-length dress in a powder blue hue.

The dress was decorated with sequins at the neckline and waist – and Brigitte accessorized with diamond earrings.

Princess Sofia also put an emphasis on style when she arrived at the palace with her husband, Prince Carl Philip.

The royal wore a floor-length dress in a champagne shade with mesh sleeves and a metallic body.

As the Swedish royal family did their best to make their French guests feel at home, they appeared to include some classic French dishes on the menu – including moules mariniere.
