The Israeli army will “come into action very soon” in the north of the country, on the border with Lebanon, where there are daily exchanges of fire with Hezbollah, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday.

The minister informed soldiers stationed near the Gaza border that others currently stationed in the Palestinian territory would be leaving the area for the north of the country.
“They will soon go into action (…) so that the forces in the north will be reinforced,” said Yoav Gallant, adding that reservists would also leave their positions to prepare for these future operations.
Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi recently estimated that the likelihood of war “in the coming months” in the north of the country is now “much higher than in the past.”
