A puppy trapped in a trash bag is thrown alive into a dumpster

A dog trapped in a garbage bag and thrown alive into a dumpster could not be saved by firefighters called to an incinerator in Loiret, France.

Last week, employees at the Gien-Arrabloy factory had to abruptly stop production lines after the dog's desperate cries were discovered among the garbage bags.

Workers immediately called the fire department for help to locate the puppy, but too late, the animal probably died of suffocation and exhaustion, Le Parisien reported Tuesday.

“We find a whole range of unusual things in the garbage, but here we reach the height of stupidity and cruelty. I've never seen that before,” a factory employee, who wished to remain anonymous, told the local newspaper.

The latter hopes that “the idiot who committed this heinous act will be found and that no one will ever again think of throwing a live animal into a garbage container,” according to the French media, stating that the perpetrator risks 3 years in prison.

The Union for the Collection and Processing of Household Waste, which filed a complaint of animal cruelty, recalls that “it is strictly forbidden to throw in household waste corpses, remains of domestic or wild animals, and even more so of animals that are still alive”.
