Louise Thompson's fiancé Ryan Libbey reveals she has been in hospital for the past 12 days – as he says he 'doesn't know when she's coming home'

Louise Thompson is back in hospital after suffering a series of health problems since the birth of her son Leo, her fiancé Ryan Libbey has revealed.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 33, took to social media on Sunday to reveal that his future wife has been in hospital for 12 days.

Ryan did not reveal why Louise, also 33, was taken to hospital, admitting he “didn't know” when she would be released.

Louise almost died during the birth of her son, who she shares with Ryan, and spent five weeks in hospital with “serious complications” in 2021.

She has since struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder and post-natal anxiety and admitted to crying up to 20 times in one week in January 2022.

Sharing the latest update with his followers, Ryan wrote: “Louise has been in hospital for 12 days now. We don't know when she will be ready to come home.

He thanked people for their messages, writing: “But thank you to everyone who has sent messages of love and support to our family. “It helps.”

Ryan also shared a selfie of himself and the couple's son, Leo, with the caption: “We miss mommy every day.”

Louise has struggled with a variety of physical problems since the traumatic birth and was also diagnosed with ulcerative colitis before her pregnancy.

In December, Louise told how she felt “a little lost” over the Christmas holidays after “doing a bit of busying” to deal with her issues with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Louise was diagnosed with PTSD and postnatal anxiety after almost dying while giving birth to her son Leo in November 2021.

And posting a lengthy post on Instagram, Louise admitted that in order to keep herself busy she “got so tired she could fall over on the kitchen floor” and that she struggled to slow down during the festive break.

The TV personality added that she is focused on “recovery” in 2024 and “break” is a “project she needs to get into.”

Louise also reflected on the difficult time she went through last New Year's Eve, when she fell into a “terrible reliving state of complete delirium” and remembered the year before that she had spent in the emergency room.

Louise's last Instagram post was shared a week ago when she shared a gallery of photos from a family holiday abroad.

She told her followers: “These are the exact photos that my dad stuck in a collage on the wall in my downstairs loo at home and that I used to stare at when I was really, really sad.”

“I would look at her and long to be that happy and carefree again.” I spoke to the girl in the photo and cried. I would say please take me back there, back there.

“Can I please unlearn what I know?” Can I please be normal again? “I was wearing ill-fitting Oakley shoes, a hat and had hair sticking out the side.”

She continued, “If you have children, stress, illness, age, or anything working against you, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to start using your resources a little more wisely.”

Louise added that she “learned to embrace and be grateful for the imperfect in-between moments, because nothing lasts forever.”

The couple welcomed Leo in November 2021 and later revealed that both Louise and her son almost died during labor.

They did not announce the arrival of their child for five weeks after severe complications at birth.

On December 23, 2021, Louise announced the birth of her son on her Instagram page and revealed that she had been discharged from the hospital to recover at home.

She said: “Five weeks ago I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, Leo-Hunter Libbey, weighing 7lbs.” Unfortunately, it wasn't the easiest start for either of us. One ended up in the NICU, the other in the intensive care unit.

Louise said Leo recovered quickly but she had to endure “a lot of bad things” and said: “Dancing with death twice brings a whole new way of looking at the world.”

She said, “Here's a reminder that a lot can change in a year.” A lot can change in 6 months. In fact, a lot can change in a month, but it is difficult to observe the change until you have created considerable distance from it.

“I'm crying as I write this.” I'm very emotional today. I can't lie, it feels good to ease my pain. I encourage you to write and cry too.

“Sometimes it helps.” But the main reason I’m writing this is because I really want you to know that you have to move on. Do not give up. Because there will come a time when you'll want to wear a pretty party dress again. You will shine again.'
