The monarch was last photographed at Sandringham yesterday before the shocking announcement this evening.
He appeared to be in high spirits before the service at Sandringham Estate Chapel after a short stay in hospital last week due to an enlarged prostate.
To confirm, King Charles does not have prostate cancer and the palace said it would not reveal the monarch's type of cancer.
