After a heartfelt speech in which he discussed the history of hip-hop and his fight for recognition from the Academy, the rapper was filmed a few minutes later pouring a glass of cognac into his Golden gramophone.
Accompanied by his daughter Blue Ivy, the 54-year-old musician attended the Dr. on Sunday evening at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Dre Global Impact Award to highlight his entire career in hip-hop and his contributions to music.

During his speech, the Empire State of Mind singer took a swipe at the Academy of Grammy Awards, which has never awarded his wife Beyoncé the night's most coveted trophy, Album of the Year. “She has more Grammy awards than anyone [32 au total], but she never won Album of the Year.
