Food Network star Jeffrey “Duff” Goldman was hospitalized last Thursday after he was injured in a car accident while driving from the airport back to his home in Topanga, California.
The 49-year-old pastry chef's dominant right hand was “crushed” in the collision on a “curvy country road” and required stitches.
“I'm fine, but it's going to be a long road to recovery,” Duff – who has 3.1 million social media followers – revealed on Instagram last Saturday.
“And for someone like me, who makes a living with my hands, you can imagine this is no joke.”
Goldman's injury meant he literally couldn't bake a cake for his daughter Josephine's third birthday party (she technically turned three on January 31).

The Children's and Family Emmy Award nominee blamed the accident on “a drunk driver” who “went into his lane,” and while they were also hospitalized, it's unclear whether they were charged with drunk driving/driving Tax were arrested.
“There is no excuse for driving drunk,” Duff wrote.
'No one. Uber, taxi, call a friend. No apology. Stay healthy friends, count your blessings. “If you drink, don’t drive, and if you drive, don’t drink.”
Goldman later told People that the other driver was “staggering around” at the scene and when he went over to see if he was OK, “I smelled his breath and thought…man, I was pretty mad.”
The Bake It 'Til You Make It host, who almost severed his pinky while carving pumpkins at the age of seven, joked to the outlet: “My daughter almost didn't have a father because that guy was stupid.”
Duff has given my family a “big hug” since the crash: “I think they're getting tired of it.” I keep saying, “Come here. Hug me real quick.”
Goldman and his wife Johnna just celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary on January 19th.

Goldman's relationship with the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned brand began in 2006 when he hosted the hit show Ace of Cakes, which took place at his Baltimore bakery, Charm City Cakes.
