Fans speculated that some of the song's lyrics were aimed at Nicki Minaj, as Megan made possible references to the rapper's husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender; Nicki was seen in Miami in December 2023
Fans speculated that certain lyrics in the song were aimed at Nicki Minaj, as Megan made possible references to the rapper's husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender.
At one point, Megan raps, “These motherfuckers ain't mad at Megan, these motherfuckers are mad at Megan's Law.”
Megan's Law specifically requires authorities in the United States to disclose information about sex offenders to the public.
Petty – whom Minaj married in 2019 – spent four years in prison after being convicted of attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl in 1995.
She also rapped, “I don't really know what the problem is, but I guarantee you, you don't want me to start.” / B***h, you idiot, never control me. / At every opportunity you understand that your weak ass won't appeal to me…'
Following the release of “Hiss,” Nicki returned the favor with a dissident track of her own titled “Big Foot,” in which she took aim at Megan.
“Bad bitch, she may be 6 feet tall, I call her Big Foot / That bitch fell off, I said stand on your good foot,” Minaj rapped, seemingly referencing the moment Megan was shot in the foot Tory Lanez was shot in 2020. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the crime.
Nicki further fueled the flames by posting a photo of her manicured feet on social media. While Megan didn't respond directly to the fellow artist, she did upload a photo of herself laughing.

Late last month, Nicki continued to engage in the argument on Instagram Live, according to Billboard, and also referenced Megan's late mother.
“You're telling the 30-year-old tea from when this man was a 15-year-old kid,” she said, seeming to be talking about her husband.
“You bring up the 30 year old tea because no man will ever love you and lie on your dead mother,” she continued. Megan's mother, Holly Thomas, passed away in March 2019 after a battle with brain cancer.
Minaj also claimed that Megan had tried to force her to drink alcohol in the past while she was possibly pregnant. However, Megan has previously denied the claim.
Regarding the ongoing feud, a source recently told : “I know Nicki seems to be in the wrong at the moment for going there, but she's not apologizing and we're just seeing what they show the public .” Things are even worse behind the scenes.
“Megan formed an alliance with Cardi B to talk about Nicki, but Nicki has been in the game a lot longer than either of them,” they claimed.
“Nicki told Megan she needed to get her act together and respect those who showed her the way. Megan came for Nicki's husband and brother and in the worst possible way. “So Nicki responded by taking things up a notch,” the source added.
The insider also explained that this might just be the beginning of the fight. “If Megan wants to keep this up, it's going to get extremely ugly – even worse than it already is.”

“Nicki knows her weaknesses and will exploit them all. “If Megan thinks Nicki's fight with Cardi is bad, that's a drop in the ocean that she's going to drown Megan in.”
Before their friendship failed, both artists were close and worked together on the 2019 hit “Hot Girl Summer.”
But in 2020, both Cardi B and Megan worked together on the popular track WAP – although Megan later revealed that she never contacted Minaj to inform her about her collaboration with Cardi, with whom she had previously feuded.
When Megan was in Chicago on 107.5 WGCI in 2020, she said, “I didn't feel like I had to call her first.”
“I mean, because at the end of the day I'm still an artist and I should have the freedom to work with anyone I want to work with.” “My personal relationship with anyone has no bearing on what I want to do as an artist.”
She added that her relationship with Cardi B “evolved” after working together, adding that her friendship with Nicki hasn't changed either.
The following year, Minaj appeared to unfollow the rapper on Instagram, and Megan soon followed suit.
Despite the feud, Megan focused on releasing new music and was preparing to release her third studio album.
