However, the team coached by Peyton Manning had the opportunity to win on the last play of the game, but Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud missed his pass to Keenan Allen. The latter scored three touchdowns and also managed 90 yards through the air.
Stroud finished his night with 18 completions on 22 attempts and gained 173 yards.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Baker Mayfield was named the game's offensive MVP. Notably, he scored two touchdown passes in the second half and won the precision passing test against Stroud on Thursday.
Demario Davis lifted the trophy as the most valuable defensive athlete.
This is the second year in a row that the national team has won against the American.
