“Good to see you,” Sofia cooed as she opened the door to her home for Architectural Digest after collaborating with designer Ohara Davies-Gaetano.

It started in the property, which displays antiques from Sweden, Spain, France and Italy.

“This is my dining room, my formal dining room, it's one of my favorite rooms in the house and it has really beautiful details – the ceiling is amazing – everything is hand painted and it has brought life to this room.”

“One of the special elements of the room is the 18th-century French-style tapestry,” she explained.

“I love collecting China – one of the most important things in entertaining is taking care of the details…I think China helps achieve that…” she said as she walked to a closet.

“This cupboard is perfect for this – take a look,” she said, presenting plate after plate and adding: “This is just the beginning, I have more!”

Then Sofia entered her huge kitchen with a spacious kitchen island: “And of course the kitchen is another super important room.” “I'm Latin American, so we love entertaining with lots of food and lots of friends, and we're always here, it is hard to get people out of the kitchen,” she noted.

“I've created cozy spaces around the kitchen… but I still don't want to leave the kitchen.”

During her interview, she also said that she doesn't cook and didn't know anything about the oven in the kitchen, but she was told she needed it because it was the best. “All I care about is that it looks great,” the screen star added.

Next came the family room.

“Here we are in the family room, in the back is the formal living room. “I love these rooms because they open up to the backyard, which is my favorite thing about the house – even though you're upstairs in the guest room and you can see the swimming pool,” she noted.

She also liked that the living room was open so you could see the second floor and I could look up to the guest bedrooms so when guests come out of their bedrooms they can see who is downstairs.

She hosts parties and watches TV in the family room, she said, joking that that's where the “drama” happens.

Sofia said she loves collecting crystal birds because she loves birds and crystals – and when she learned they existed together, she was thrilled.

And she added that collecting was on her bucket list when she was young and living in Colombia, pointing to a sculpture and a painting.

The painting on the wall was of a matador and was labeled “02” by Botero.

“There was something about the matadors that really attracted me,” she said

One of the most important corners of the house, she said, is a large green closet with black iron bar details.

When Sofia opened it, she showed the bar filled with alcohol. She said this was where “happiness lives,” then asked the cameraman, “What do you want?”

The pool is really important because you can see it from every bedroom, she shared.

“I wanted to feel like you were on the Mediterranean, like you were in a villa or a hotel in Italy,” the icon said.

The plants were picked very carefully: “When I got the house there was nothing on the hill, so I planned everything.” “I wanted a tropical feel with tropical plants – they're not actually Mediterranean, but that made me feel a bit like in Colombia,” explained the TV goddess.

She said the bedroom was “super cozy” and there was “lots of light in the mornings,” adding that the space made her feel “sexy and special.”

Sofia shared, “I have a love for four-pronged beds and this one is really special because I love the color and textures.”

“I thought it would be perfect for the room, it fits the house well and is sexy,” the pinup purred.

“I hate heaters. I can't turn it on. “So when it gets a little cooler, I turn on the fireplace, not only because the heat is better, but also because it makes the room really beautiful with the light,” the viewer shared.

“And this isn't just any fireplace – it's from the Waldorf Astoria in New York. “I asked my designer to bring a pretty fireplace into the room and she found it!”

She added that the designer “saved her life” because she was at a crossroads when purchasing the home.
