Cillian Murphy's lookalike son Aran is tipped for Hollywood success as he is set to make his film debut in Taika Waititi's Klara And The Sun.

The 16-year-old has landed a role in the Thor director's new film, an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's New York Times bestseller.

The teenager will join Wednesday actresses Jenna Ortega, 21, and Amy Adams, 47, in the A-list cast.

Cillian paved the way for Aran after winning Best Actor at the Golden Globes for Oppenheimer, following supporting roles in five films from director Christopher Nolan.

And while it took years for the Peaky Blinders actor to have his big Hollywood moment, his son experienced a brief success story as he's set to make his feature film debut at 16 years old.

Aran will play a character named Rick, who is a best friend and neighbor of Josie (played by Mia Tharia).

The dystopian science fiction book was made into a film by screenwriter Dahvi-Waller.

The 21-year-old Wednesday actress Jenna plays the protagonist Klara, a solar-powered artificial friend who is supposed to prevent loneliness and is chosen by Josie, a sickly child, as her companion.

Klara sets out on a quest to save Josie and those who love her from heartache.

Cillian's son Aran, who made a rare appearance at the Golden Globes, has followed in his father's footsteps and pursued an acting career with roles in the film LOLA and a stage production of Hamnet.

While eldest son, Malachy, 18, has shown an interest in music, a passion which Cillian has encouraged.

During his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Globes, Cillian called himself “the luckiest man” as he addressed his wife and children directly.

“For my family, I am the happiest man and I love you,” he said.

Cillian beat an impressive field to take the prize including: Andrew Scott – All of Us Strangers, Barry Keoghan – Saltburn, Bradley Cooper – Maestro, Colman Domingo – Rustin and Leonardo DiCaprio – Killers of the Flower Moon.

Cillian and his family now live in Dublin after he reportedly spent almost £1.7million on a Victorian townhouse.

Originally built in 1863, the four-storey house is located in south County Dublin and has six double bedrooms and four reception rooms.

While they are now based in Ireland, his sons were born in London and remained there until 2015. The actor joked that they moved because his sons developed “very posh English accents.”

“We were in London for 14 years, our two children were born there.” “We only came back to Dublin in 2015,” he told the Armchair Expert podcast.

“It's kind of an Irish story of moving away, doing your thing and then coming home.” That seems to be a common narrative among the Irish.

“We wanted the kids to be Irish, and they were about the age where they were prepubescents and had a very posh English accent, and I didn't particularly like that.” “Our parents are of a certain age and It was just a nice time to come home.”

The 5'7″ star also noted that his sons were almost taller than him.

It also seems Cillian won't be following in the footsteps of the acting elite, claiming he “can't imagine” moving to Los Angeles.

Cillian said: “I love visiting, I love the food and I love the weather. “I don't know, I just feel European, I just feel Irish. “If I lived in California I would feel like an intruder, I couldn’t imagine living there permanently.”
