The family found dead in a Bay Area home earlier this week included a husband, wife and their four-year-old twin sons, can reveal.
Friends identified the couple on Tuesday as Anand Sujith Henry, 37, and Alice Benziger, 38, who bought the $2.1 million home in upscale San Mateo in 2020, records show.
Her twin sons Noah and Neithan – both four years old – were found on a couch in one of the five bedrooms on Monday morning.
The couple, who worked as data scientists and engineers respectively, were found with gunshot wounds next to a 9mm handgun and a loaded magazine in the bathroom, San Mateo police confirmed to on Tuesday.
The case has been treated as a murder-suicide since Wednesday after initial reports incorrectly suggested the family died of gas poisoning. Police now say this was not the case after they came across the horrific scene during a welfare check at 9.13am.

“We are confident that the person responsible was in the house,” police said in a statement, as they continue to review the case involving the family from India, friends and family confirmed.
The husband, a former software engineering manager at Meta and Google, filed for divorce in December 2016, records show — years before Benziger, a data science manager at Zillow, gave birth to their child.
Apparently the divorce never happened, and after Henry left his post at Meta last June, he started his own AI company.
The company, known on the veteran computer scientist's social media as Logits, offers companies the ability to “privately train and operate generative AI models” to meet their own specific business needs. The website is unavailable at the time of writing.
He previously worked at Meta for a year and a half after working at Google's Sunnyvale office for nearly eight years.
During this time, records show, the family lived in at least four apartments throughout San Francisco before moving into the house where the crime took place.
The move came around the time the children were born – and this week locals revealed they have been called to the home several times since then.
They did not disclose the nature of these calls and said no note was left at the scene.

At this time, police in the affluent Bay Area suburb have no motive but remain convinced the murders were committed by someone who lived in the apartment.
Officers there were confronted with the grisly scene Monday morning after receiving an unspecified call from someone concerned about the family's well-being and whereabouts.
Officers knocked on the door but no one answered, cops told , so they entered the building through an unlocked window.
“Based on the information we have at this time, this appears to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public as we believe the person responsible was inside the home,” San Mateo police said in a statement, but still chose not to officially identify the deceased.
“This investigation continues as investigators work to collect evidence, speak with witnesses and family members and determine a possible motive.”
The San Mateo County coroner's office is currently working to notify the families of those murdered.

Unnamed sources told KTVU that the father fatally shot his wife in a bathtub before turning the gun on himself after relatives said the suspected cause of death was a gas leak from the air conditioning system.
Neither report has been substantiated, with the latter – offered to the New Indian Express by a relative identified only as Claudius – seemingly all but refuted.
“Today we received a call from their maid informing us that the couple was found dead in their house,” the reported relative told the foreign outlet on Tuesday, adding that other family members are currently flying to the US from India.
The family said the couple were both graduates of TKM Engineering College and both also attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Alice then earned a master's degree in data science from the University of San Francisco, according to her LinkedIn details. She then held positions at Dictionary.com, Idibon and Change.org before taking her senior role at Zillow six years ago.
