Alex Belzile recalled by Rangers

The New York Rangers recalled Alex Belzile from the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday.

The Quebecer could therefore play in uniform against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday at Madison Square Garden. Recall that the Saint-Éloi native got his first chance in the National Hockey League with the Habs in the 2020-2021 season.

He had his most productive season last year, still at CH, with six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 31 games. Belzile had also spent time in the American League with the Laval Rocket.

Last offseason, the 32-year-old forward signed a two-year, $1.55 million contract with the Rangers. However, he spent the entire year with the New York team's AHL farm club, the Hartford Wolf Pack, where he scored 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 43 duels.
