Sixth film in the Bourne series: Matt Damon really wants to know if he will be there

The wait seems painful for actor Matt Damon, who still doesn't know if he will return to his role as Jason Bourne in the sixth chapter of the eponymous spy saga.

“I can't wait to find out as much as you do,” Matt Damon told host Stephen Colbert when he was a guest on his late-night show on Tuesday.

The 53-year-old actor played CIA assassin Jason Bourne in the first three films in the series and in the fifth. The fourth part featured Jeremy Renner and his character Aaron Cross in a story based on the adventures of Jason Bourne.

In November, we learned that Edward Berger would be directing this sixth feature film, inspired by Robert Ludlum's best-selling novels.

“He's a great director and I know he's already working [sur le prochain Bourne]That’s why I want us to be able to work together,” Damon said.

From 2002 to 2016, the Bourne franchise grossed more than $1.6 billion at the global box office, against a total budget of just under $500 million.
