In general, the presence of creatures from a planet other than Earth is never very reassuring. Of course there are a few exceptions, but moviegoers tend to assign the wrong role to these spontaneous visitors. Here are five films where aliens are not welcome.

The friendly creature caused a stir when he arrived in 1982. Revealed by Steven Spielberg, the funny character, accompanied by a breath of fresh air, entered Earth to live a beautiful story of friendship with Elliot, a boy who accepts him as himself and hides him from those who want to capture him . Little ET couldn't have found a better host for his unsettling but enriching stay. It's typical Hollywood, but don't forget the scene where ET, sitting in a basket with a blanket over his head, lifts Elliot's bike into the sky. A family classic to discover or rediscover.

When Guillermo del Toro gets involved in a story, it can take on enormous proportions. The Mexican pulled out all the stops for this science fiction feature film. His monsters and robots are immense and no laughing matter. Aliens from the depths of the ocean are ready to wage a merciless war against humans who want to defend our planet at any cost. There is no room for negotiation here. We have to keep resisting. The bottom line is that it's no surprise that things are turning out this way.

A day without tomorrow

Experiencing the same day over and over again is enough without having to fight aliens who want to exterminate humans. The man Tom Cruise plays in this thriller struggles with this big problem. Surely he shouldn't have ventured onto the battlefield unprepared, but there's no point in dwelling on it for long, because the only thing you have to do is understand how to get out of this situation. Swamp. Another feature film that is not lacking in action.

Just like the courage of those who decided not to give up and to raise their heads to offer serious resistance to the invaders.

When it was released in 1982, this science fiction horror production did not have the expected theatrical impact. But sometimes you have to be patient. John Carpenter's film later found its (large) audience and the filmmaker received praise for his performance. It is he who captures in images the bewildering experience of researchers whose stay in Antarctica is deeply shaken by the confrontation with an alien, which can take various forms. By attacking them, the Thing drags people into a reality where they no longer know who to trust.
