It is the invitation to the Federico II University of Naples that keeps the Geolier controversy alive. A case that continues to cause discussion about the Neapolitan rapper after the heated controversy surrounding second place behind Angelina Mango. Roberto Vecchioni speaks in the latest episode of Altri parole, Massimo Gramellini's talk show on La7. In the studio, the tweet of the economist Carlo Cottarelli is quoted, who, after learning of the Neapolitan artist's invitation to give a lecture at the Neapolitan University, attacked: “I may be regressive, but I really don't understand why that is. The University of Naples invited Geolier to give a lecture at the Neapolitan University. Should every runner-up in Sanremo lecture at the university? Edoardo Bennato sang well: “They're just songs…”.
Vecchioni, visibly annoyed, answers bluntly: “He didn't understand anything because Bennato was being ironic. He didn't understand anything at all…” The singer-songwriter then gives his version of the controversy against Geolier: “It has to do with adversity towards him South, but above all there is envy behind it.” Because Naples has been a kingdom since 1200, when goats grazed elsewhere… Naples is a huge city, it invented music and this way of expressing oneself. It’s a temporary city, it’s under a volcano and every day is a life.”
