Former US President Donald Trump launched a sneaker line on Saturday (February 17, 2024): Trump Sneakers. The launch came a day after the Republican was ordered to pay a $355 million (R1.76 billion) fine in a civil fraud case. Find out more here.
The sneaker models include a gold hightop called Never Surrender, which sold out within hours. The pair costs $399 (R$1,982). According to the website, 1,000 numbered pairs were made available, “at least 10 of which happened to be signed by Trump.”
Trump introduced the line at Sneaker Con, a convention for sneakerheads in Philadelphia. The former president said the launch was something he had been thinking about for more than a decade.
Other models are for sale, such as the TRed Wave. Trump's Republican Party is represented by the color red. Another model is called Potus, an English acronym for President of the United States.
Both cost $199 (R$989) and are embroidered on the sides with a T and the number 45, since Trump was the 45th President of the United States.
Also sold at $99 (R$492) each is a perfume and cologne called Victory47. If Trump wins this year's presidential election, he will succeed Joe Biden, the country's 46th president.
