Does the name Linus Omark mean anything to you?
I remember him because when I was younger I watched his shootouts on YouTube almost every day.
In other words, he has a knack for scoring spectacular goals.
It's like when he played his very first NHL game…
And he decided to unleash his magic to score a great goal, a goal that also allowed the Edmonton Oilers to win the game:

But you're probably wondering why I'm talking about him today even though he played his last game in the National League 10 years ago (2013-2014 season).
Omark, who currently plays for the Lulea team in Sweden, decided to withdraw from the X/Twitter platform… because he was tired of being insulted by his club's fans.
You should know that the Lulea team is in eighth place in the SHL standings, 20 points away from first place, even though there were big additions to the squad last offseason.
The players in the squad are being criticized because they are less dominant than expected…
And the fact that the league leaders did nothing in the transfer window that just ended doesn't help the fans' anger.

Apparently, Omark had enough of being vilified on social media and decided to take action by closing his Twitter/X account.
To get to this point it has to be serious and that's a shame because he has no way to protect himself.
The former Oilers have 32 points (12 goals) in 43 games in the SHL this season, which is anything but bad.
And in the worst case scenario… Even if he didn't live up to expectations, that's no reason to insult him on the internet, because what happens on the ice stays on the ice.
It's boring, but this problem will never be solved because there is always someone somewhere saying stupid things on the various social platforms, no matter what the topic is…

Friday, June 28th – NHL Draft
You are the CEO of #CH Who will be drafted 7th overall (very realistic).
The 6 choices in front of you are Celebrini, Levshunov, Lindstrom, Demidov, Dickinson and Buium.

– Effectively.
Buffalo…wtf? Ducks looked dead in Montreal and destroyed in Toronto. They handled Ottawa easily, but that doesn't count because they're Ottawa.
Come on, you CANNOT lose to them on home ice.
