Israel does not recognize the legitimacy of the International Court of Justice

Israel I announce this “Does not recognize legitimacy” of the audience International Court of Justice (ICJ) in which the legal results of its applications in East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office issued a statement on the matter, saying that “the hearings were aimed at impairing Israel's right to self-defense against existentialist threats.”

“The hearings are part of an initiative to dictate diplomatic outcomes without any negotiations with the Palestinians. We will continue to fight against this initiative. “The Israeli government and the Israeli parliament agree on this matter.”

Lior, spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry Haiat, wrote on his social media account that he “accuses the Palestinian leadership of “turning a conflict that should be resolved through direct negotiations without external constraints into a one-sided and inappropriate legal process, spreading unfounded accusations and a fundamentally distorted reality .”

As part of the hearings that began yesterday at the International Court of Justice, 52 states, including Turkey, as well as the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union, will make statements by February 26 on the legal consequences of the practices of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory zone, including East Jerusalem.

Public hearings will be broadcast live from the International Court of Justice, which is based in the Peace Palace in The Hague, the administrative capital of the Netherlands.
