The Philadelphia Flyers found a way to counter Connor Bedard and beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 on Wednesday night at the United Center.
It was only the 15th time in 43 games that the very first pick of the last National League draft failed to score a point. It was also the first time he was ruled out since returning to the game on February 15.
The Flyers' success came from the bats of Garnett Hathaway, Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim, while the only goal for the Hawks was the work of Colin Blackwell.
In front of the cage, Samuel Ersson stopped 22 pucks in the win, while Arvid Soderblom made 30 saves in the loss.
For the Blackhawks it was the tenth loss in their last eleven games.
The Flyers return to competition on Saturday with a visit to the New York Rangers at Wells Fargo Center. Bedard and his gang will be in action Friday night against the Winnipeg Jets.
