Coyotes release Adam Ruzicka after he was filmed using cocaine-like substances

Many fans were disappointed that the Montreal Canadiens did not claim forward Adam Ruzicka when the Calgary Flames placed him on waivers on January 24th. Ultimately, Kent Hughes may have made the right decision.

On Friday, a video of Ruzicka surfaced on social media in which we see the man eventually claimed by the Arizona Coyotes at a table filming the various substances on it, including one that looks like cocaine.

A fourth-round pick of the Flames in 2017, Ruzicka played his first five full seasons in the Flames organization before being acquired by the Coyotes on January 25. In Arizona he went scoreless in three games.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Coyotes announced that they had placed Ruzicka on waivers to terminate his contract, adding that they would not comment on the matter.

This is the second time in several months that the Arizona organization has found itself in this situation. In July, the Coyotes had to cut ties with Alex Galchenyuk after he was arrested and charged with hit-and-run, disorderly conduct, insubordination, resisting arrest, threats and intimidation.
