Billie Eilish and Melissa McCarthy had a celebrity encounter that went comically wrong at the 2024 SAG Awards on Saturday.
After Melissa gushed about how big a fan she was of Billie's, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter scribbled her autograph on the 53-year-old actress's forehead.
The moment caused viewers at home watching the ceremony on Netflix to laugh at the shocking moment, which inspired social media users to joke about Melissa's appearance as a Billie Eilish superfan.
She even revealed that she worked with Billie's mother as an improv coach when she was pregnant with the future hitmaker.
After a grueling 118-day strike, the Screen Actors Guild is honoring the best performers in film and television at its 30th annual ceremony, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Melissa was visibly overjoyed to share the stage with Billie, but after the singer said it was nice to meet her, the Bridesmaids actress corrected her and said they had met several times, including years before – before her was born at all.
“We've actually met before, but it's fine, it doesn't matter,” she said.
“I mean, why would you remember that? You shouldn't remember this… We met twice, actually we met three times. “You met my daughters and one of my dogs,” she joked.
“Fun fact, since you asked, I also met you in the womb because your mother was my first improv teacher,” Melissa revealed. “And guess who she was pregnant with? It was you.'
“Wow… that's… a lot,” Billie replied, completely expressionless.
Melissa continued to fangirl by begging the singer to sign her dress.
“No, I don't want to ruin it,” Billie replied, but the actress took it as a compliment.
“Thank you for liking my selection,” Melissa said. Instead, she asked Billie to sign her face, which got an enthusiastic response from her.

Melissa revealed that Billie's mother had been her improv coach years ago and that she was pregnant with the future hitmaker.
After Billie refused to sign Melissa's dress so as not to ruin it, she agreed to sign Melissa's forehead instead
'Oh okay. “I thought you were going to say, 'I don't want to ruin your pretty face,'” Melissa joked.
“I don't care,” Billie muttered as she leaned over to scribble her autograph on Melissa's forehead, hilariously putting a hand over her mouth to stop her from talking.
Fans on social media found the depiction “so funny.”
“Melissa is THE Billie Stan,” one user wrote.
Some people hilariously compared the depiction to the time Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) got a mustache and goatee painted on her face on Friends.
One viewer was convinced that Billie and Melissa needed to team up for a “buddy comedy.”
Others were shocked by Melissa's story that she met Billie while she was still in the womb.
“Damn, who knew the story of Melissa McCarthy and Billie Eilish?” wrote one fan.
“Melissa McCarthy and Billie Eilish are the unlikely couple I didn't know I needed,” another fan added.
“Billie Eilish signing Melissa McCarthy's face is the funniest thing I've seen in five decades of awards fandom,” one user gushed.
Melissa looked glamorous on the red carpet in a shiny silver dress with flowing ruffled sleeves.
Billie looked casual in a sheer beige sweater vest with red stripes, which she wore over a white button-down shirt and black tie, along with black pants and matching boots.
She was joined on the red carpet by her brother and fellow songwriter Finneas, who wore a classic black tuxedo, and Barbie star Margot Robbie, who looked gorgeous in a black mini dress with a long pink train around her waist.

Billie and Melissa teamed up to present the award for Actress in a Comedy Series. The shocked and visibly nervous Ayo Edebiri (left) won the award for her performance in the hit series “The Bear”.
The winners of tonight's show will be chosen by SAG-AFTRA members who will vote for their favorites in several categories.
Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani announced the nominations on Instagram Live earlier this year, with Barbie and Oppenheimer leading the film nominations with four nominations each.
Barbie star Margot Robbie and Emma Stone from “Poor Things” are among the nominees for the Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress award.
Maestro's Bradley Cooper and Oppenheimer's Cillian Murphy are also among the contenders for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.
Ryan Gosling, who played Ken in Barbie, is among the candidates for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role award. He will compete against Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe, Robert De Niro and Robert Downey Jr. for the honor.
When it comes to television, the hit HBO Max drama series Succession received the most nominations with a total of five nominations.
Three of their stars are aiming for the same honor. Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfadyen are among the nominees for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series award.
Sarah Snook is also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Drama Series.
Succession will compete for best ensemble in a drama series against The Crown, The Gilded Age, The Last of Us and The Morning Show.
The comedy shows “Ted Lasso” and “The Bear” also received four nominations.
All three series received the “Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture” award.
Netflix will broadcast the ceremony live for the first time. Last year's awards were streamed on Netflix's YouTube account.

The awards come just months after SAG-AFTRA reached an agreement with film studios following a months-long strike in which streaming-era pay and artificial intelligence were key issues.
The strike began on July 25, 2023 and a tentative agreement was reached on November 8. The strike officially ended on December 5, 2023, when 78 percent of union members voted yes.
Despite disagreements over the final deal, the result was a major relief for union leaders and the entertainment industry after a grueling few months of strike action.
The boycott coincided with the WGA strike, which lasted from May 2 to September 27.
