Sevilla is the first Spanish football club to report to the competition committee of the Spanish Federation the videos that Real Madrid Television broadcasts week after week about the referees of the white team. In it, they systematically focus on the alleged mistakes that these referees at Madrid make every time they instruct them in LaLiga games. Sevilla has issued a statement denouncing Madrid's “harassment” of the referee panel and forwarded the videos to the competition committee this week. On this occasion, Real Madrid TV, managed by Movistar and Supersport, a subsidiary production company of Mediaset, puts the spotlight on the referee Isidro Díaz de Mera, who will act as the main referee for Sunday's match at the Santiago Bernabeu (9 p.m., Dazn). and Pablo González Fuertes, who will be responsible for the VAR as referee.
“Sevilla FC wrote this Saturday before the Competition Committee of the RFEF to denounce the campaign of persecution and harassment against Mr. Collegiate Díaz de Mera, who was appointed chief referee of Sunday's match between Real Madrid and Sevilla FC. as well as to the referee González Fuertes, designated referee of the VAR, via Real Madrid TV, the official television of Real Madrid,” reads the statement from the Andalusian team.
“Sevilla FC wishes to formally report these incidents to the association's bodies in order to assess whether these incidents can be considered as a violation of the General Provisions of the RFEF or other regulations applicable to it,” it continues. “The club would also like to express its strongest condemnation of these behaviors and campaigns that aim to tarnish the image of the refereeing establishment, cause serious damage to Spanish football and call into question the integrity of the competition,” he concludes.
The videos that Real Madrid TV broadcasts week after week of the referees who manage the white team every day have provoked criticism from the referee group. Also that of his top manager Luis Medina Cantalejo. “It doesn’t seem right to me. It seems inappropriate to me because these videos exert enormous pressure. We don't like it at all. “There is no team in the world in any sport that does this,” the head of Spanish referees explained last January when asked by Cope about the videos of referee Alberola Rojas in the preview of the Spanish Super League semi-finals became cup. However, neither the referees' panel nor the Spanish federation took any action to protest against the broadcast of these videos by Madrid's official television.
