Tom Araya's wife says she “harassed him for over a year” to get Slayer back together

Sandra Araya, the wife of legendary Slayer bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, has taken a stand against online critics questioning the band's recent decision to reform for select festivals. In a heated social media post, Sandra defended her husband's return to the stage and highlighted her tireless efforts to convince him to reconsider his retirement from performing.

According to Blabbermouth, Sandra's passionate response came days after announcing Slayer's comeback shows at Riot Fest in Chicago and Louder Than Life in Louisville this fall. Addressing critics directly, Sandra highlighted the crucial role she played in convincing Tom to join the Reformation, saying: “Tom was tired of performing. I harassed him for over a year. And he FINALLY agreed.”

His message received widespread support, including from Gary Holt and his wife Lisa, who expressed their enthusiasm for Slayer's reunion.

News of Slayer's return came as a surprise to many, not least because guitarist Kerry King had previously suggested that it was unlikely the band would perform in the future. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the band's future, fans can expect a handful of rousing performances from one of metal's most legendary bands.
