Pro Bowler arrested mid-game on child pornography charges

Professional bowler Brandon Novak was arrested during his second match at the US Open tournament in Indiana and faces multiple child pornography charges.

The 35-year-old was transported to the Ross County Jail in Ohio on February 1 from Indianapolis, where the tournament was held, CNN reports.

Having forfeited the US Open tournament following his arrest, he appears in the event's official results list as 36th, which would earn him US$1,500 in prize money.

In particular, he faces 10 counts related to the unauthorized use of nudity-oriented material by a minor.

This arrest would be the result of more than a year of work, while Mr. Novak has been the subject of an investigation since February 2023, the Columbus Dispatch reports.

The bowler has been participating in bowling tournaments for more than 10 years.
