This year the focus at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is on AI and how it is changing society.
For example, a robot dog is able to interact with people, take photos and recognize voices.
China is strongly represented at MWC this year. Lenovo, one of the Chinese technology giants, notably presented a laptop with a transparent screen that combines AI and augmented reality, but it will not hit the market immediately.
Huawei, another Chinese giant that regularly attends the event, is targeting the European market, as shown by the construction of a factory in France.
“Construction is underway and will allow us to create a very strong and resilient supply chain in Europe for our customers,” said Tony Jin, Huawei’s vice president for the Europe region. “Europe is and remains the most important market.” Despite the pressures and challenges, the company continues to increase its investments in Europe.
