Nathalie Simard will take part in the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge in April

Nathalie Simard is preparing to cross something surprising off her bucket list: On April 7th, she will have her hair shaved as part of the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge.

“It was on my wish list. I told myself, one day I will do it. They called me and I immediately said “yes” because all issues affecting children are close to my heart. And what contribution does shaving your hair make when the brave children with cancer lose their hair without having a choice? says the 54-year-old singer, who was already a sponsor of the Charles Bruneau Foundation.

Single and relaxed

This change in her appearance for a good cause marks another step for Nathalie Simard after she announced her romantic breakup last December.

“I think it’s the perfect time to take part in this unifying challenge. Shaving your hair also has symbolic meaning: it is like cleaning, removing a weight, etc [apporter] A wind of renewal with spring and the fact that I have recently been single,” adds the godmother of Maison la Grande Ourse Montérégie, a therapy center for survivors of sexual assault or violence.

Nathalie Simard says she is calm, happy and spoiled by the “various beautiful projects” that lie ahead.

However, after a Christmas album, she is in no hurry to work on another album. Instead, the foodie singer is working on a recipe book, an idea that's been floating around in her head for a long time. She speaks of a concept “close to the people that helps families with cooking, full of money-saving tips and gourmet family recipes.”

As for the reality TV adventure “Get Me Out of Here!”, which will soon return for a second season, the one that was in the finale of the first season assures that it is already following everything on the subject was revealed.

“I am the number 1 admirer. We all experience this, the people of the first cohort. It looks like the family is growing. When we meet campers from that year, we look at each other and think, 'Hey, you were there too,'” she says.

Interestingly, three former campers from the first season are among the participants in the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge, which began in 2001: Andréanne A. Malette, Marianne St-Gelais and, very soon, Nathalie.
