St-Marc PARDU festival in the forest: Émile Bilodeau responds to criticism and a woman comes along

The St-Marc PARDU dans l'bois festival, which was heavily rejected on social networks for its 100% male program, finally announced on Monday morning the addition of a show by singer Cayenne. The event's headliner, Émile Bilodeau, took the opportunity to respond to those who had harshly criticized him on social networks for several days.

Many people criticized Émile Bilodeau for taking on the role of headlining the event when no female artist took part in the scheduled shows.

However, for the same reason, the singer withdrew from Festiplage in Gaspésie in 2022.

“After working with the festival all weekend, my record label (Bravo Musique, founded mostly by women and headed by Cœur de Pirate) managed to get a local artist to join the festival. Her stage name is Cayenne and she sings her own songs,” the singer commented on Monday in response to a column by Sophie Durocher setting out these facts and published on our pages on February 26th.

Bilodeau also responded to another publication on the subject a few days earlier, mentioning that he was initially unaware that the festival consisted only of men and that it was precisely the presence of female artists that encouraged him to agree to participate, in the case of the previous year .

Both Émile Bilodeau's team and the organization of the St-Marc PARDU dans l'bois festival declined interview requests from the journal.

The event will take place from July 12th to 14th in Saint-Marc-de-Latour on the north coast.
