Before the claim was spread in French, it was spread in Arabic on February 24th. There is currently no evidence that, in addition to the Israeli army, there are also “Indian mercenaries” in the Gaza Strip.
Jewish Indians have indeed become soldiers for Israel, as reported by several Indian and Israeli press outlets, but they are not mercenaries but fighters who do not belong to a regular army. The Israeli army also accepts soldiers of foreign nationality into its ranks, but these soldiers cannot be classified as mercenaries either.
The soldier's photo is old: it was already online in 2016, according to a reverse image search. The photo was added to the website izismiles, a page that lists 70 photos of female soldiers in the Israeli army. Her name is not given there, so there is no confirmation that her name is “Shira Nokam”.
