Malayalam actress Lena announced her marriage to Gaganyaan pilot group captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, just hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the names of the four Indian Air Force pilots who will be part of India's first manned space program, Gaganyaan.

Lena shared on Instagram that she had to wait before revealing her marriage to him in order to maintain legal anonymity.

The actress confirmed that she married Group Captain Nair on January 17. This is her second marriage.

Sharing a video montage with excerpts from the event attended by Prime Minister Modi and their wedding, she wrote, “Today on February 27, 2024, our Prime Minister Modi ji presented India's first astronaut wings to the fighter pilot and group of the Indian Air Force.” Captain Prashant Balakrishnan Nair. In the montage, the newlyweds can be seen wearing garlands and posing with their families in traditional outfits.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi announced the names of the four designated astronauts who will undergo training for the country's first manned space mission.

Apart from Group Captain Prashanth Nair, the other Indian Air Force pilots selected are Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.

The four astronauts were trained at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in Kerala, reviewed the progress of the Gaganyaan mission and conferred astronaut wings on the four at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.

The Gaganyaan mission is India's first manned space program and extensive preparations for it are underway at various ISRO centers.
