Renee Rapp reveals she doesn't know about the 'Mean Girls' 'fireproof crotch' controversy because she was 'pretty drunk' at the premiere: 'The next day I was extremely hungover'

Renee Rapp revealed that she was unaware of the “Mean Girls” fire crotch controversy because she was “pretty drunk” at the film's premiere.

Megan Thee Stallion referenced “Fire Crotch,” an insult that was once hurled at Lohan years ago during her cameo in the “Mean Girls” reboot, and the reference angered Lohan.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rapp admitted, “I feel like I'm the only person in the world who hasn't seen this and doesn't know what we're talking about.” And I think that's because I was pretty drunk at the premiere and that was the only time I ever saw the film. Because I don't like watching stuff that I'm in because it freaks me out.

“It was me and Megan [Thee Stallion]next to each other, and I thought, “I'm so worried.” I immediately went into the theater, took off my little dress, put on a more comfortable one, and sat in the back.

“I thought, ‘We need two bottles of champagne.’ The next day I had a bad hangover. I must have had a great time. I remember looking at myself and thinking, 'My eyeliner looks amazing.' And that's all I remember.”

Rapp played Regina George in the new musical reboot, years after Lohan starred in the original. Lohan also made a brief, surprise cameo in the new film.

However, she was disappointed that the joke made its way into the remake: “Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film,” her rep previously told The Messenger.

In the new film, Megan Thee Stallion shows up to praise the new popular girl Cady (played by Lindsay in the original film).

The rapper says in a TikTok-like clip: “Fire Crotch is back.”

Renee also opened up about her 2023 hit “Snow Angel,” a song about a horrific drug experience she went through several years ago.

Rapp previously revealed that she was drugged during a night out with friends in 2022.

“I really used my judgment when it came to the people around me,” she explained on Jay Shetty's podcast last year. “We were all out there and situations kept coming up where they just weren't trustworthy, and the next thing I knew I was face up, lying down in a bathroom stall in a hotel bar, and I just woke up.” [at] 5am, all alone.'

“I woke up and I was just so confused, I had blood on my pants and I was really so surprised,” she said.

“I had my phone and my purse. And I looked down and I was completely alone in a bathroom stall and I looked at my phone and it was 5 a.m. and I was like, “What happened?! I was at a party with my friends!?”

Speaking to THR, she said she's still “sorting through” the emotions surrounding the experience.

“I still feel like I'm sorting through these feelings.” I understand that it was an incredibly traumatic experience that I don't remember at all. And it feels weird talking about it because I can't remember it.

“I just recently started saying, 'Wait a minute, the people who let this happen to me suck.' Recently I thought, “I actually want to unfollow this person on Instagram because they left me at a club to get drugged.”

“God knows what happened to me.” And it happened two years ago. I woke up in a bathroom stall, face up in the Beverly Hilton, with blood on my pants. And had been left alone for about seven hours at this point.'

She nodded to the incident during her Saturday Night Live appearance.

“I thought, 'Okay, if we do SNL, if I do that.' [song]”I'll do this.” I'll be lying on a red floor and I'll have to start laying down because that's how I woke up. And underneath me there should be red and I should be all in white.'

Rapp also spoke about the importance of therapy and how counseling has played an important role in her daily life.

“When I was 20, a week before the pandemic. I was in a difficult situation. I had a really severe eating disorder at the time. I lived in New York City for about a year. I was really stressed and felt incredibly lonely and very sick.

“I'm obsessed with it [therapist] I see that now. The other night I left the stage, and obviously it's on Eastern Standard Time, and I was in Paris. I had a full-blown anxiety attack and hit her and said, “Queen, can you access Zoom?” And she was like, “Yes, absolutely.” And it makes such a big difference to me because – you know, as some people say : “Oh, count five things and take a deep breath?” I really wish I could do that. But I’m on a different level, so I do a lot of therapy.”
