Lawyers for the five players on the 2018 Junior Team Canada (JT) squad accused of sexual assault were back in court in London on Tuesday.
Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, Carter Hart, Dillon Dubé and Alex Formenton are being tried as a group and have chosen to have their case heard by a jury rather than a judge.

“Earlier this week, the five players agreed to a jury trial and are confident that the community jury will decide this matter fairly and impartially after hearing all of the evidence and testimony,” attorneys representing the accused hockey players said in a statement joint press release.
There is currently no date set for the trial. All defendants pleaded not guilty last January.
The alleged facts go back to June 2018. At that time, the five members of the ÉCJ were said to have committed a gang rape in a London hotel room after a gala to celebrate their gold medal win last winter.
Of the defendants, only McLeod is charged with “participation in a crime.”
