He has the talent, charisma, lightness, voice and facial features almost identical to those of Patrick Bourgeois, his famous late father. Ludovick Bourgeois certainly honored his father at the hilarious, dancing and moving Montreal premiere of his BB tribute show on Tuesday night.

Ludovick Bourgeois invited us to an evening full of sweet nostalgia at the Théâtre Maisonneuve on Place des Arts on Tuesday. The show Les BB by Ludovick Bourgeois hits its target exactly: to bring the youngest (like him, who was actually only three years old when his father's group disbanded in 1996) and, above all, closer to the melodies of the BB, in order to get the fever of the to revive former Beaux Blonds with an energy, a staging and a passion similar to those of the icons of Quebec song.
We felt like we were in the 90s when Ludovick, his father's blue guitar in his hand and surrounded by his 5 excellent and dynamic musicians, performed the hits of BB in front of an audience that seemed to be convinced in advance. The great moments of loud singing and dancing while standing in a charged Place des Arts? You're in the moon, Thug, be careful, give me my chance, and the eternal you will never know and Loulou as the last pieces.

A beautiful madness
On the wall, a giant screen showed a montage of Ludovick and Patrick Bourgeois' family video archives, as well as various moments of madness from the trio that defined a generation.
All around, projections, geometric shapes, neon lights, karaoke and other visual references to the 90s underlined this beautiful journey through time. Effective production by Joël Legendre.
“Thank you for allowing us to experience this, this beautiful madness,” said the young 31-year-old singer, who appeared emotional several times throughout the evening.

This gratitude, he explained, comes from his father, with whom he had a great time at the Franco Folies de Montréal in 2008 in front of 70,000 festival goers and then shared the stage with him on tour from 2014 to 2017. Also his mother (“Because it's not just my father”, laughed the artist who won the sixth season of La Voix, to whom he dedicated the song: “I stretch out my arms”).

Seven years after his father's death, Ludovick Bourgeois spoke with great emotion and for the very first time about their last moment together. The last “I love you” from a father to his son and from the son to his dads before this big farewell that surprised them both.
“He waited until he was alone to leave, as if he wanted to go into battle alone,” the young artist confided to the overwhelmed audience, before launching into the magnificent “Alone in Combat.”
At the end of this hour and a half concert, which for some people went by as quickly as the 90s went by, one thing is certain: those present last night woke up this morning with a few BB catchy tunes in their heads. and the impression of having made a certain Ludo (a worthy descendant of his famous father) their new friend.
