Dave, best known as one half of the Hairy Bikers, died on Wednesday at the age of 66, his co-star Si King announced on social media.
The television chef announced in May 2022 that he was being treated for an unspecified type of cancer.
Dave previously took part in Strictly in 2013, where he worked alongside professional player Karen Hauer – who said she was “heartbroken” after hearing the sad news on Thursday.
After performing dances such as Salsa, Jive and Paso Doble, the two were eliminated from the competition in the seventh week.

After his death, fans remember his cha cha cha to the Maroon 5 hit Moves Like Jagger.

He made exaggerated moves during the show in a flamboyant silver shirt, grabbing professional Karen by the leg and dragging her across the dance floor.
His energetic dances were memorable for their exuberance and then-judge Bruno Tonioli praised him for his “entertainment”, but he was ultimately thrown out when he tangoed to “I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)” mid-series. by The Proclaimers.
A statement posted on Hairy Bikers' social media today by Dave's TV partner Si said: “Hello everyone, I'm afraid I have some sad news to share.”
“Most of you will know that Dave has been battling cancer for a few years.
“Last evening, February 28, 2024, he passed away peacefully at home in the presence of Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, his close friend David and me.
“Everyone who knew Dave is devastated by his death. His beloved wife made him happy, as did their children Iza and Sergiu, whom Dave loved as his own.

A statement posted on the Hairy Bikers' social media today by Dave's TV partner Si said: “Hello everyone, I'm afraid I'm bringing sad news.”

“Personally, I’m not sure I can put into words how I’m feeling right now.”
“My best friend is on a journey that I can't follow at the moment.” I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we have shared for half a life.
“I wish you God’s speed, brother; You are and remain a lighthouse in this world. See you on the other side. Love you.'
The statement continued: “I know that Dave and his family would like me to thank everyone who has sent messages of support recently.”
“It meant a lot to him, his family and the entire The Hairy Bikers team.”
“Sending you all much love and gratitude for these simple acts of kindness, generosity and spirit.” We are forever grateful.
“May I ask for one more act of kindness from all of you and give Lili, his wife, family, close friends and I some time and some peace to process our great loss.”

Following his diagnosis, Myers took a brief break from work before filming his final show with King, in which they travel across the UK from Scotland to Devon.
King previously said the series The Hairy Bikers Go West, which airs on BBC Two, would be one they would “always remember”.
The next episode of the series is scheduled to air on March 5th, with weekly broadcasts running until March 19th.
Reacting to the news, BBC Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore said: “Everyone at the BBC is incredibly sad to hear this news.”
“Dave made cooking a truly joyful adventure and shared that joy with millions.
“The public loved him and his unique partnership with Si.” Together they made every viewer feel like a friend.
“Beyond that, he was just a lovely man. “Our thoughts are with his family and many friends.”

Si announced the sad news in a statement posted on social media, saying he will miss his friend “every day.”
TV chef Paul Hollywood said he was “disappointed” to learn that Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers had died aged 66.
The Great British Bake Off judge commented on the announcement post shared by Myers' co-star Si King on Instagram: “Except Si, this is terrible news! Love, mate xx.”
TV host and stylist Gok Wan also described it as a “terrible and heartbreaking loss” in the post.
“Sending all my love to Dave's family and friends. RIP Dave,” he added.
