Relatives of national trombonist Antonio “Toñito” Vázquez Ponce, who died last Sunday at the age of 62 from complications of pulmonary emphysema, reported details of his funeral on social networks.
The funeral ceremonies for the renowned musician will take place over three days at various locations, where posthumous tributes will be given and the audience can say goodbye.
On Friday, March 1, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., his body will be on display at the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture in San Juan, where his contributions and musical legacy will be honored.
On Saturday, March 2nd, the wake will be moved to Angel Luis “Cholo” Espada Field in his hometown of Salinas from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Protocol and religious events begin at 1:00 p.m
His funeral will be Sunday, March 3, at 9:00 a.m. in Salinas. The funeral procession departs from the Salinas Memorial Funeral Home to the Pablo Alberto “Wico” López Municipal Cemetery in the aforementioned city.
