According to Nehemiah Mitchell, the co-founder of We Ball Sports, a sportswear and media company that organized the event, everyone involved in the affair was removed from the premises.
Newton is the founder of the C1N program, which competed in the tournament. The TopShelf Performance and C1N U18 teams faced off in a very exciting game on Saturday, said Mitchell.
“We are very concerned about the incident involving Cam Newton,” TopShelf coaches Stephon and TJ Brown said in a statement shared by The Athletic. Violence has no place in our community and we strongly condemn any form of aggression.”
Two of the men who had problems with the former athlete are TopShelf Performance trainers who have already made it at his side. The company added that the matter would be resolved internally.
