Yesterday we suffered our sixth straight defeat as Boone Jenner failed To more than 2.5 shots on goal against the New York Rangers. How a bettor reacts when he loses skids says a lot about him.
Many people panic and just can't stand losing 4, 6, or 8 picks in a row. However, this is inevitable over the course of a year.
Personally, I place more than 1000 bets per year. I know in advance that there will be difficult times. This happens every year. And that's okay; It's part of the game! It is not possible to make 1000 bets without experiencing severe losing streaks. You have to prepare for it.
However, my free National Hockey League (NHL) tip is not supported by any of my NHL betting systems today. However, I prefer the Lightning to beat the Buffalo Sabers in Tampa at -1 odds. This currently gives decimal odds of 2.20 and about +120 in American format.
For those of you unfamiliar, Tampa must win by a margin of two goals or more for the bet to win. In the event of a win by a margin of exactly one goal (e.g. a win of 3 to 2), the stake will be returned.
Both teams come into this game having lost their previous match. The Sabers lost 3-2 to the Florida Panthers, while the Lightning were beaten 6-2 by the Philadelphia Flyers.
Before their respective failures, the two clubs had won their previous two meetings. Tampa picked up the points in the standings by defeating the New York Islanders 4 to 2 and easily defeating the New Jersey Devils 4 to 1. The Sabers, in turn, defeated the Carolina Hurricanes and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
It's unlikely Buffalo will play playoff hockey this season as the team is 27-28-4. His away record is 14-12-3, which is acceptable but doesn't bring down the entire league.
Tampa Bay, on the other hand, has a slightly better season record than Buffalo at 32-24-5. Additionally, they have a nice home record of 18-8-3.
The Lightning are still in the running for a playoff spot. That should really motivate the players to get the job done in front of their fans.
So far this season, the two teams have met twice and shared the honor. The Sabers managed to do slightly better than Tampa and win in Buffalo in October. The Lightning managed to get revenge in January, winning their last game 3-1.
Tampa Bay has won seven of its last eight games at Amalie Arena. Meanwhile, Buffalo struggled to win in the Sunshine State.
An intriguing aspect of this game will be whether Brandon Hagel can extend his streak of games with at least one point to 15. It's an impressive sequence. So far this season he has totaled 22 goals and 37 assists.
However, I expect a big game from Nikita Kucherov. He is the NHL's all-time leader in points this season with 103 points. He ranks second in the league with 65 assists and third with 38 goals. He was outstanding throughout the campaign.
The Tampa Bay Lightning appear to have too much offensive power for the Sabers tonight. I don't think Buffalo will be able to contain this type of attack.
Overall, I really like the Lightning's chances of covering the -1 tonight. With a potential playoff spot up for grabs, this should motivate Tampa to finish the job convincingly and send a loud and clear message to other Eastern Conference participants.
Have a nice day my friends, see you tomorrow!
