A driver plowed into a crowd in Szczecin, Poland, injuring at least 17 people. According to provincial governor Adam Rudawski, the driver collided with a group of pedestrians crossing a street at an intersection in the city center on Friday. Two of the injured were therefore in mortal danger. The police ruled out a terrorist background.
According to the governor, the driver initially fled, but was arrested shortly after. “It is not an act of terrorism,” said police spokesman Pawel Pankau. The arrested driver was a 33-year-old Polish man. As he fled, the man crashed into three cars and their drivers were injured.
