Back home with the certainty that Celac is moving forward, the president emphasized in his account on the social network X.

The head of state emphasized on the platform that his country continues to support integration and peace in the region, a statement he made at the regional event in the room commemorating the tenth anniversary of the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

Díaz-Canel confirmed in X his participation in the popular rally that will take place tomorrow in the Caribbean country in solidarity with Palestine.

During his speech at the summit in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the President stressed the need to maintain calm so that people can continue to come together and discuss in a civilized and respectful manner.

He also stressed that defending peace also means a stronger rejection of unilateral coercion and blockades by powerful countries that want to act as universal judges to isolate and subjugate sovereign states.

He also emphasized that the Peace Proclamation, although still very young, is undoubtedly a historic milestone in the equally young history of Celac.

During the regional meeting, Díaz-Canel met with the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, and expressed to her his country's interest in advancing the commitments made during his official visit to this Caribbean country in 2022.

Both parties reaffirmed their willingness to advance cooperative relations in areas of common interest for the benefit of both nations.

Composed of 33 countries, Celac is a regional intergovernmental mechanism established in December 2011 to promote unity and political, economic, social and cultural integration.
