A tourist couple was attacked by seven men while staying overnight in a remote region of India.
Motorcycling around the world turned into a nightmare for these Spanish tourists. They originally planned to cross 63 countries by motorcycle, but during a stopover in the Dumka district, a remote region in the Indian state of Jharkhand, they experienced hell. The couple had arrived from Bangladesh and traveled to Nepal via Bihar.
But while they were pitching their tent and sleeping, the two Spaniards fell victim to a nasty attack. Facts denounced in a video published on social networks by the couple from the hospital where the man and the woman, aged 45, were treated. The video was removed at the request of police so as not to interfere with the investigation.
“Something happened to us that we wouldn’t wish on anyone,” the victim’s husband said in this video. After being taken out of the tent where they were sleeping, “they put a knife to my throat and said they would kill us, and seven men raped them.”
The couple filed a complaint and police arrested at least three people. “It is a condemnable incident and the police are taking appropriate action. The perpetrators will not be spared,” Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, the regional minister of Jharkhand state, assured the press as the affair caused much uproar in the country.
India's National Commission for Women also condemned “this brutal gang rape” and said it wanted to meet the victim and investigators. The collective said there could reportedly be 8 to 10 perpetrators.

According to Catalan television, the couple embarked on a motorcycle trip through 63 countries with the intention of covering 150,000 kilometers in five years, as they explained on their Instagram account, which has almost 200,000 followers.
