Sydney Sweeney refuses to let critics have the last word.
The “Euphoria” star poked fun at the affair rumors between her and Glen Powell during her “Saturday Night Live” opening monologue, addressing “some things” she's seen about herself online.
“The craziest rumor I've ever seen is that I had an affair with my co-star Glen Powell while filming 'Anyone But You,'” she said with a laugh. “That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiancé [Jonathan Davino] He co-produced the film and was there throughout the entire shoot.
“And I just want to let everyone know that he is the man of my dreams and we are still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me.”

Looking at the camera crew, Sweeney, 26, continued: “Can we cut to him?”
The camera then cut to 35-year-old Powell, who was sitting among the audience and had a stunned expression on his face as the camera panned to him.
“That's not my fiancé!” joked the actress. “He’s in my dressing room and we have a great show for you tonight!”

Sweeney and Powell later teamed up for another post in which the “White Lotus” star was seen on a dinner date with her boyfriend.
“I cheated on you with my boss and I think we should break up,” the “White Lotus” star told her partner.

Powell then appeared at the couple's table and said, “Hey Babycakes, do you want to get out of here?”
Cheers erupted from the crowd as the duo walked together.

Last year, the Top Gun: Maverick actor and Sweeney's friendship was put to the test when fans noticed their undeniable chemistry while filming their 2023 romantic comedy.
Affair rumors between the co-stars increased when Powell broke up with now-ex-girlfriend Gigi Paris in April 2023, which led to her unfollowing both him and Sweeney on social media.
Around the same time, Davino, 38, was also photographed leaving Sweeney's Los Angeles home with his dog and luggage in tow.
However, the “Madame Web” star and Powell continued to cling to rumors about their alleged romance while promoting their highly anticipated film.

Addressing the rumors in August 2023, the actress told Variety, “It's a romantic comedy.” That's what people want! Glen and I don't really care. We have so much fun together and we respect each other so much; He’s such a hard worker and I’m a hard worker.”
Sweeney added that she and Powell even engaged in the narrative to create more excitement around their film.
“They want it,” she continued. “It’s fun to give it to them.”

As for Powell, the allegations don't seem to bother him as he hasn't shied away from gushing about the blonde beauty, claiming that she's “the easiest person to have chemistry with.”
“We make each other laugh. She's amazing, obviously one of the most talented actresses we have,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
“This film felt like a romantic comedy because it's very easy to pretend to fall in love with Sydney.”
