On Friday (1) she played with the minority in the state capital. “Who said there are no Republicans in DC? Come on. We try to make sure we touch every hand we can and talk to every person.”

Understand how it works
Primaries are national elections in which voters vote for a party's candidate who will later run in the general election. This year, primaries are taking place in 45 of the 50 US states. The rules as to who is allowed to vote and who is not are determined by the individual states and parties.
In the US, voters do not choose their candidates directly in primaries or caucuses a different electoral system. They elect delegates who are then tasked with nominating the candidates who vote at each party's national conventions and elect the presidential candidate.
The more populous a state is, the more delegates it can send to national conventions. The largest delegate states are California, Texas and Florida. But there are also delegates who are not elected by the electorate: these are the socalled “nonbinding delegates” who can support anyone they prefer.
