Charlotte Tourigny and Priscilla Findlay gave us an extraordinary gospel duet during their duel The voiceSunday.
The two artists crossed swords on “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” by Lauryn Hill and provided a lot of emotion thanks to their vocal flexibility.

However, a decision had to be made, a particularly cruel task that her coach Mario Pelchat could not escape.
It was Priscilla, 30, from Montreal who won the duel, a decision agreed upon by all coaches. Mario praised his “almost perfect performance” and Charles Lafortune, who has hosted the show since day one, even spoke at La Voix about one of the best duels in 10 years.
Priscilla had expressed doubts during rehearsals, but nothing emerged in the spotlight. In this seventh episode of the season, she showed off her full vocal abilities. The young woman had a voice and she played with it to move us as much as possible.

“I really enjoyed singing with Charlotte and the performance was unforgettable,” said Priscilla, who loves Lauryn Hill’s R&B but has a clear preference for gospel. Priscilla has been singing since she was two years old, but it wasn't until she was about seven or eight that she began performing in church attended by her Jamaican family. In fact, the gospel is king there.
“Gospel is celebratory, it stirs emotions. “When you have a bad day, it helps your spirit, and when you have a good day, it encourages you even more,” said Priscilla, who studied jazz music and performance at the University of Montreal. She is completing her dental hygienist course this spring.

“Music remains my first option, but I need a flexible job that I also love while I wait to get into music.”
At 19, she won a scholarship that took her to Lee University in Tennessee for a year, where she was part of a choir that performed throughout the United States. She was also a member of the Jireh Gospel Choir of Montreal, which enabled her to share the stage with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and with Michael Bublé.
Priscilla had problems with her vocal cords after years of singing, which caused her to question herself. “I thought, 'If I can't sing, then who am I?' I wrote my first song “Carry Me” there. I relied on my faith in God.”
His voice has improved as we can see in the show, which now represents a dream springboard to launch his career. Everything still needs to be written. So to be continued.
